Holidays

The cat and I are having a small Christmas this year. We have a small Christmas tree, and we'll have a small Christmas dinner. Maybe we'll even get a small amount of snow! I decorated the house a bit, but what I am the most proud of is my itty bitty fake tree. I don't have too many ornaments, so it doesn't look cluttered, and for some reason, the cat hasn't taken to playing with it, and hasn't taken all of the ornaments off! Just though I would spread some holiday cheer by sharing pictures of my teeny tiny tree!

Snow Day

So, we got snow for the first time two weeks ago. Not a lot, but just enough for me to realize that it is a LOT colder here than it was in Eugene. Who would have thought that being just a few hours north would make that much of a difference. It was beautiful though! The flakes were huge. Reminded me that it really was almost winter. Thankfully the snow melted quickly and there was almost no flooding in my area. Hopefully we'll get some more wonderful snow soon!

Moving!!!

I am almost all the way moved to Corvallis. While this isn't the most exciting move I have ever made, it is the beginning of a new chapter. The only problem is that I need to finish the last chapter before I can start the new one. Cleaning the apartment is becoming the hardest thing I have ever done. I am just ready to get this all over with so I can move into the new apartment and start the new job!!

Seattle Trip

Monday morning I got a call to do a job interview in Seattle. By Wednesday night, Meggan and I were heading north to kick it in Seattle before the big interview. Traffic wasn't half bad until we were about 2 miles from our hotel, at which point, our average speed dropped to roughly 2 mph. Even with this minor setback, we made it into the city by about 10:30 pm. Let me tell you, the city is BEAUTIFUL at night. Lots of lights everywhere, big buildings, you name it, it was there. We drove past our hotel (twice actually because we didn't know where it was), but when we finally arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. The company had decided to put us up in an AMAZING hotel. Not only was it super posh, it was really comfortable. There was art everywhere (the doors to the rooms were covered in giant black and white pictures. It was fantastic. Even the restaurant next door was wonderful (though the service was kind of slow even though the restaurant was nearly empty). The next morning we raced around trying to get to the interview on time. The interview went well, and Meggan and I hit the road once again. It was already 4 pm and I needed to get home so that I could be back at work by 4:30 am. Even though there was stop and go traffic from downtown Seattle until well after Tacoma, somehow we managed to make it home before 10 pm! While we were completely exhausted after two days of driving, we managed to enjoy our mini-vacation.

Graduation

I finally made it! After four years of working my ass off, I finally graduated! While this should be really exciting for me, it is also really scary. All of my friends have left the area, and I am leaving too. I wish that all the friends I have made in the past four years were sticking around. I will miss them all very much!
